of a Chief Warder, four Principal Warders, and twenty-two Warders, six of whom were on a special rate of salary. Under the revised scheme the twenty-two Warders have been classified together. I recommend an increase in the number of Principal Warder posts from four to ten. The proportion between the two classes will then be much on the lines of the proportion between similar classes in other departments.

I shall be glad if a reply may be sent by telegram in order that the necessary amendments may be made in the Estimates for 1921.
